Electrical Modifications

I added 6 ignition-switched, fused power outlets to the bike using two small waterproof fuse boxes from www.totallywiredcycles.com:

Fuse boxes tucked into the toolkit cavity

These fuses run power up to the front of the bike for

  1. Escort Passport 8500 x50 radar detector, wired in with a so-called "smart cord" so I have a mute button under the starter.
Also powers a Signal Dynamics voltage meter.

  2. Garmin GPSMap 60CSx, mounted to the handlebars. Also provides power to my tank bag via a Gerbings connector. This will power whatever I end up putting into the tank bag.

  3. BMW socket on the left side of the front fairing.

  4. Gerbings connector for a power regulator that runs my heated gear when it's cold.

  5. A currently-unused wire that will eventually run an airhorn.

  6. Unused

The two fuse boxes fit nicely under the seat where the toolkit used to be. I moved the stock toolkit to an ammo can under the exhaust.
